Bash Bish Falls - Visiting the Tallest Waterfall in Massachusetts from Taconic State Park in New York

Bash Bish Falls - Visiting the Tallest Waterfall in Massachusetts from Taconic State Park in New York

Bash Bish Falls is nestled on the very western edge of the Berkshire Mountains in Bash Bish Falls State Park, and is the tallest waterfall in Massachusetts. Bash Bish Falls is a beautiful natural wonder that plunges dramatically over a series of rugged rock formations, offering a beautiful waterfall that’s a short hike from the trailhead located in Taconic State Park, NY just to the east of Bash Bish Falls.

To access Bash Bish Falls from Taconic State Park in NY, the trailhead parking is located on Route 344 just to the east of the Village of Copake Falls, New York.

From the trailhead, it's an approximately 3/4 of a mile long hike to Bash Bish Falls. Besides a short descent immediately after the parking lot, the trail is generally climbing gently alongside Bash Bish Brook to Bash Bish Falls.

Once you reach the Bash Bish Falls, there's a viewing area above the falls, and you can take a short trail and staircase down to the base of the falls. You'll return the same way you came, this time with the majority of the walk downhill back to the trailhead and parking area for a total of a 1.5 mile hike.
